Bad Beans Soap is a handcrafted exfoliating bar made with upcycled coffee grounds from Lavender Hill Springs’ roastery in Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. Finely ground coffee gently buffs and polishes the skin’s surface, and coffee is naturally rich in antioxidant compounds that can support the skin’s defense against everyday environmental stress.
Bad Beans Soap was created after a major round of Starbucks layoffs that affected more than a thousand workers, including a family member with over three decades at the company. In roasting, some beans are labeled “bad” and discarded even though they still carry the same core qualities and beneficial compounds as any other bean, so Lavender Hill Springs chose to reclaim those grounds and turn them into soap as a symbol of second chances for the beans, for the laid-off partners, and for anyone who has ever been treated as disposable.
